Maruti Suzuki celebrates football’s top performers with the Swift Deca
The beautiful game has produced many legends and most of them have one thing in common\: the number 10 jersey. Think of all the great names in the sport - Pele, Ronaldinho, Messi, Maradona, Zidane and Rooney. All have worn that number and immortalised it in the history of football. Taking a cue from the world of football, Maruti Suzuki has launched a limited edition of one of their best performers, the Swift.
Christened the Swift Deca, this model prominently sports number 10 on the front doors and a racing stripe decal running the entire length of the hatchback. The sporty look is further conveyed by an exterior kit that comprises of side skirts and a roof mounted spoiler. The wheels have also received a gloss black finish, a departure from the silver finish seen on the standard model.
The interior is a far cry from the changes seen on the outside with revisions that are far more expansive. To begin with, the cabin has an all-black look contrasted by sporty red colour visible on the seats and steering wheel. Maruti has also added faux carbon fibre elements on the centre console and door trims in an attempt to up the style factor, but to our eyes, it seems a bit gaudy. What does succeed in making the cabin look upmarket though, is the ambient lighting feature.
In terms of equipment too, the Deca is well loaded. A Sony touchscreen audio system with Bluetooth and external mic, six-inch Sony door speakers, reverse parking system with camera are all part of the package.
Introducing the Swift Deca, R S Kalsi, executive director, marketing \& sales, Maruti Suzuki said, Swift is a sporty, stylish and fun to drive car. Since its launch, it has been one of the best performers in our portfolio and helped us strengthen leadership in premium hatchback segment. Over the years, the Swift has evolved in features, looks and technology, often defining the changes in aspiration and preferences of Indian car customers. Swift Deca carries forward the sportiness and performance quotient associated with the brand.
The Indian auto major is launching the Deca in only two trims\: the VXi and VDi. Since this is purely a cosmetic update the drivetrain remains similar to the standard Swift. Customers will have the option of choosing from two colours on offer\: Bright Red and Pearl White. This limited edition has been priced at Rs 5.94 lakh and Rs 6.86 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the VXi and VDi variants respectively.
