Audi’s A3 Sedan gets new base trim
Around this time last year, when we first got our hands on the Audi A3 Sedan, we found it to be a well-rounded package on the whole. Now, one year down the line, the Germans have added a new base petrol variant of the sedan, the 40 TFSI Premium, which gets a good amount of kit. As far as exterior features go, the A3 40 TFSI gets new alloys, electrically-adjustable ORVMs, in addition to the halogen lamps and light/rain sensors. The High Gloss Package is also available on this variant. Inside, it gets a multifunction four-spoke leather steering wheel, 3D ambient transparent inlays and Regatta leatherette-fabric upholstery. The 40 TFSI Premium also gets a new interface for the music system, a new lighting package and an electronically-adjustable driver's seat. There are some comfort features thrown in, too, like rear parking aid, automatic two-zone air conditioning with sun sensor, rear AC vents and cruise control. On the safety front, you get seven airbags, anti-slip regulation, electronic stabilisation control and even some anti-theft wheel bolts.Priced at Rs 25.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Mumbai), the A3 40 TFSI Premium will sit below the Premium Plus variant, and will be powered by the same 177bhp- and 250Nm-producing, 1,798cc, four-pot motor mated to the seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
