BMW may have been accused of diluting the MINI brand with an unnecessarily wide range of models of late but this new addition may just put a smile on the faces of its doubters.
Behold, the MINI Superlegerra Vision, a vintage two-seater roadster concept crafted with the help of Italian coach builder Touring Superlegerra.
MINI Cooper DNA may be evident in the headlights and grille but the rest of the car is quite a stunning block of metal that’s quite unexpected from a brand specialising in cheerful iconic compacts.
The beauty of the sleek aluminium body shell is capped off by unique Union Jack-inspired taillights while the fin running along the back of the car is a stroke of coach-building genius.
The Superlegerra Vision will make its first public appearance at the 2014 Concorso d’Eleganza Villa d’Este and BMW has mentioned that its drivetrain is electric, with no further details to work with.
If this represents the direction in which MINI is heading, we surely can’t wait for the future. Can you?
