Hyundai Veloster is a good looking car and we know Hyundai is bringing it soon to Malaysia. But what we would really like to see here is this turbo version that will be officially unveiled tomorrow at the Detroit Auto Show 2012. The Veloster currently comes with a 1.6-litre inline four that churns out about 138bhp and 167Nm. Impressive, but it did fall short on a lot of people’s hot hatch expectations.

For people like those, hyundai has now bolted on a turbocharger that hikes the power to 201bhp and peak torque rises to nearly 266Nm. Hyundai has also tweaked the looks a bit to go with that extra poke. The most distinctive are the recessed air intakes on the bonnet and the bumpers, front and rear, are modified too. Seats get turbo stitching on them too. More details will be revealed tomorrow at the unveiling and we shall keep you posted.
