Oris Malaysia has launched its new line of watches called the Artix GT Chronograph series – the latest addition to the Oris Motorsports collection.
The Artix GT Chronograph sports design cues inspired by the field of motorsports such as a sporty yet elegant rubber strap with a folding clasp and the Oris-developed retrogade mechanism where seconds are tracked in a unique display bar that mimics the look of a rev counter. There are altogether 12 different models in the Artix GT Chronograph series.
The event celebrated the achievements of Malaysian sporting icons Pandelela Rinong Pamg and Azizulhasni Awang. Both Pandelela and Azizulhasni represented Malaysia in the recently concluded 2012 London Olympics where the former made history by becoming the first Malaysian female athlete to win an Olympic medal with her bronze medal in the 10m platform dive event. Oris Malaysia also officially announced its sponsorship for acclaimed violinist Dennis Lau, who was present at the launch to entertain the public with his musical prowess.
Dennis, alongside Pandelela and Azizulhasni, were presented with Oris timepieces during the event. “We celebrate the launch of the Oris Artix GT Chronograph in Malaysia, a timepiece that combines contemporary design with sporting elegance. As in sports and music, precision and timing is necessary in watch making and we are proud to honour Pandelela, Azizulhasni and Dennis for their achievements by presenting them with our precision timepieces,” said Raymond Tan, General Manager of Oris Malaysia.
