Audi has launched the 2013 A3 Sportback ahead of its premiere in the Paris Motor Show. With a longer wheelbase than the three-door variant as well as the outgoing A3 Sportback, Audi says that passengers will now get several more milimeters of legroom, sufficient for three adults to sit in the back. Cargo space is also increased over the three door A3 and the outgoing model with boot space rated at 380 litres and 1220 litres if the rear seats are folded down.
The engine options will be the same as in the three-door A3 which include a 1.4L and 1.8L TFSI petrol engines and a 2.0L TDI diesel. Audi is also scheduling a smaller 1.2L TFSI engine which produces 105hp and 175Nm of torque in the future. All models will come with a choice of a six-speed manual gearbox or the S-Tronic transmission. The A3 Sportback is bound to hit dealerships in Germany next February whereby the prices will begin at €22,500 (about RM90,000) for the 1.2L TFSI variant.
