Jaguar F-Type finally unveiled

Posted on: September 27th, 2012

Jaguar has finally taken the curtains off one of its most highly anticipated models of recent years – the Jaguar F-Type.  The E-Type’s spiritual successor will be offered in three variants – the F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S.

The standard F-Type is powered by a 3 litre V6 engine which generates 340hp while the F-Type S carries the same engine but with a higher output of 380hp. The former will do 0-100km/h in 5.3 seconds all the way to a top speed of 260km/h while the S variant needs just 4.8 seconds with a top speed of 275km/h. The range topping V8 model has 495 horses and 625Nm of torque under its belt which allow it to do the century sprint in just 4.2 seconds whereby top speed is rated at 300km/h.

Jaguar’s new sportscar will begin selling in the UK with prices starting at £58,500 for the standard F-Type, £67,500 for the F-Type S and £79,950 for the V8 S. Jaguar has released a video to convince you exactly why those numbers are worth shelling out for.
