Fresh from its unveiling at the recent Paris Motor Show, the Mercedes SLS AMG Electric Drive takes to the Ascari Race Track in Malaga Spain in Mercedes’ latest promotional video.
Under the hood is a combination of four electric motors that produce a total output of 740hp and 1,000Nm of torque which enables the car to do the century sprint in 3.9 seconds all the way to a top speed of 250km/h. In terms of its useability as an electric car, the SLS AMG Electric Drive has a range of 250km on a single charge and charging a depleted battery takes three hours using a rapid charger or 20 hours via a conventional outlet.
Watch the video below as the Electribeam Magno (Mercedes’ term for blue) SLS AMG Electric Drive as it whizzes around the racetrack almost silently. The car is due to go on sale in Germany next year with prices starting from €416,500 (approx RM1.65m).
