The Festival of Wings is an awareness campaign for protection of migratory birds kickstarted by the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS) and it has consistently gathered bird watchers and nature lovers alike for over a decade already.
This year, Volkswagen will become the main sponsor of the Festival of Wings as it continues its efforts in preserving the environment under the company’s Think Blue initiative which rolled out earlier this month.
The two-day campaign which celebrates the biodiversity of birds flocking around the Kuala Selangor region is not the first eco-campaign that Volkswagen Group Malaysia supports as it has also backed similar green initiatives such as the River Jungle Marathon 2012 in which a fleet of Polo Sedans were provided to aid injured participants.
On an automotive note, the Think Blue umbrella encompasses environmental initiatives even in the technology of VW cars, which include hybrid systems, TDI diesel engines, electric cars and even petrol engines with TSI and DSG technology.
