If you like the M6 Coupe but looks for the practicality of a four-door, then here’s your answer, the M6 Gran Coupe. As the name suggests, it’s the extended model of the 6-series, where it fights against the likes of other four-door coupes, particularly 2013 Audi RS7 and 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG.
This M-version sports the now-standard twin-turbocharged 4.4L V8 that develops 552HP and 680Nm of torque, transferred to the rear-wheel through BMW M’s 7-speed dual-clutch DCT transmission. Acceleration figure takes 4.1 seconds to reach the 100km/h mark with a top speed electronically limited to 250km/h.
Physically, it looks dead-on similar to the 6-series Coupe with the M-body kit, carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) roof and central diffuser with quad-exhaust pipes.
Sales of the M6 Gran Coupe begin soon after the car was unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show last week.
