AMG’s senior powertrain engineering manager, Jorg Gindele, has revealed the company is testing a C63 AMG 4MATIC.
Gindele said the company has already built a prototype and he knows this “because it’s my car.” Gindele withheld details but said the model is currently being evaluated and could be approved for production. Gindele also confirmed AMG is developing an all-wheel drive version of the next-generation S-Class, which will likely be called S63 AMG 4MATIC.
Gindele then announced that AMG will offer a E63 AMG Black Series towards the end of the current generation’s lifecycle. There’s no word on what will power the model, but it wouldn’t be a surprised if its going to be even more powerful than the 585HP E63 AMG S-Model. An E AMG with 600+ HP and serious aerodynamic modifications? Sounds bloody great!
