Hennessey Performance Engineering has released the first details about their upcoming tuning program for the 2014 Corvette Stingray.
The Texas-based tuner plans to offer two different performance packages for the C7 Coupe and Convertible. The first kit will use a supercharger to enable the model to develop up to 700 HP. The other kit will use twin-turbo for an output somewhere in the range of 800-1000 HP. Both packages will likely rely on the 6.2-liter LT1 V8 engine that develops 450 HP and 609 Nm of torque in its normal aspiration state.
Hennessey also plans to offer a variety of accessories including cold air induction systems, cat-back exhaust systems and stainless steel long-tube headers. We can also expect a sport-tuned suspension, high-performance brakes and “wheel and tire upgrades.”
The Corvette goes on sale in the third quarter of 2013; so expect the packages to show up several months after that.
To recap, Hennessey has been producing quite a few scorching tuned cars with crazy horsepower figures and the cars include a 750 HP Camaro HPE; 1,000 HP Caddilac CTS-V and the most powerful that Hennessey has ever produced, the 1,200 HP Lotus Elise-based Hennessey Venom.
