With all the motoring glitz and glamour provided by the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini at the ongoing Geneva Motor Show, something more down to earth is a refreshing change. And that is exactly what Suzuki has served up.
What you’re looking at is the new SX4. If these images look familiar, it is probably because the new SX4 is the same car dubbed the S-Cross which Suzuki announced would go into production earlier.
Two engines have been announced for the new SX4 – a 1.6-litre petrol and a 1.6 litre diesel. The former is offered with a five-speed manual or a CVT with seven-speed manual mode while the latter is paired with a six-speed stick.
At 4300mm long, 1765mm wide and 1575mm tall, the new SX4 is longer and taller than its predecessor, but also slightly narrower. Its wheelbase is up by 100 mm, with the car riding on a choice of 16 or 17 inch alloys.
Defining features of the new model include LED DRLs, two-piece combination tail lamps, a sloping roofline and a more pronounced shoulder line. Inside, the SX4 features a class-leading double sliding panoramic sunroof and 430 litres of luggage space.
