The Jaguar F-Type, the much acclaimed successor to the iconic E-Type, made a pit stop at Jaguar Malaysia’s showroom in Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur today, where it will be on display till the 17th of March before flying to its next destination.
Jaguar Malaysia had the display car air freighted from Paris, where it was on duty for the Paris Motor Show, and invited the media and prospective buyers to take a closer look at what is possibly Jaguar’s most anticipated new model in recent years.
The model showcased during the exclusive preview was the F-Type V8 S, which carries a five-litre V8 supercharged petrol engine under its hood. This powerplant puts out a whopping 488hp and 625Nm of torque, powering the roadster to a century sprint of 4.3 seconds all the way to a top speed of 300kmph.
Also available in the F-Type range are the standard F-Type and F-Type S. They are both powered by a three-litre V6 supercharged engine but in different tunes. The former produces 340hp and 450Nm of torque while the latter delivers 380hp and 460Nm. The base F-Type does 0-100 in 5.3 seconds with a top speed of 260kmph while the F-Type S clocks 100kmph in 4.9 seconds with a maximum of 275kmph. All cars in the range come with an 8-speed QuickShift Transmission.
Although the car is yet to be officially launched here, Jaguar Malaysia has released indicative selling prices of RM888,888, RM988,888 and RM1,098,888 for the F-Type, F-Type S and F-Type V8 S respectively.
The first deliveries of the F-Type are expected in the second half of 2013 and potential suitors are advised by Jaguar Malaysia to decide on their bookings fast as stocks are expected to run out quickly.
