You probably know that the tuning arm of Mercedes Benz is called AMG. You probably don’t know that it was started by two men in a shed, and a love of the old Merc 300.
Mssrs Hans-Werner Aufrecht and Erhard Melcher set up shop in Großaspach as an independent tuning firm, and their resultant ‘AMG’ quickly became the master at making mighty Mercedes.
