The MINI Paceman
Posted on: March 22nd, 2013

The MINI Paceman is here. If you don’t know what it is, take a Countryman and lop off the two rear doors off. Flatten the roof a bit and… is that it? Not quite.

“As a pioneer in the urban environment, the character of the MINI Paceman is vividly imbued with the innovative and inimitable style of the MINI brand. It targets at a modern group who appreciates a car with a confident appearance and one that offers infectious driving fun at the same time,” said Mr Neil Fiorentinos, managing director, BMW Group Asia. “The MINI Paceman qualifies itself as a premium compact Sports Activity Coupé that offers sporting flair, practicality and rugged versatility, coupled with an offering of extensive standard equipment to add to the intoxicating driving fun that it is capable of delivering.”

Boasting a sporty accommodation for four, MINI claims that rear passengers will enjoy impressive shoulder room and headroom, outstanding lateral support and exceptional comfort. The high-opening tailgate of the Paceman and its low boot sill allow the luggage area to be accessed in comfort. Load capacity stands at 330 litres, increasing to 1,080 litres when the rear seat backrests are folded down.

The MINI Paceman is available in four powerful and efficient petrol variants from launch, ranging from the MINI Cooper Paceman (120 hp) to the MINI Cooper S Paceman (184 hp). Plans are in place to add a MINI John Cooper Works Paceman variant to the range in due course. It has lowered sports suspension and DSC (Dynamic Stability Control), Electric Power Steering and a standard Servotronic function for that MINI hallmark go-kart feeling.

The MINI Paceman comes with high-quality standard equipment including, automatic air conditioning, comfort access, electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, Rear Park Distance Control, the Centre Rail and full leather seats. Other standard equipment in the MINI Cooper S Paceman (optional on the MINI Cooper Paceman) includes an electrically operated glass roof, Radio MINI Visual Boost and Xenon headlights.

Who’s up for a Paceman? Here are the prices:

MINI Cooper Paceman: S$192,800
MINI Cooper S Paceman: S$223,800
