Difficult to know why, but it's a question no one has ever thought to ask before: what happens when you crossbreed a Ferrari F355 and a Citroen 2CV van? (Or fourgonnette, if you're going to be all French about it.)
You guessed it: one of these. This is the extraordinary 2CV-F355 (Citrarri F355CV, maybe?) hybrid from Italian tuning house Nimik. Essentially it's a complete F355 chassis with an adapted 2CV body on top.
Which means it's powered by a mid-mounted 3.5-litre V8 engine putting 380bhp through the rear wheels - good for a 0-60mph time of around five seconds. That'll give the chavs in the souped-up Saxo a shock at the traffic lights.
Nimik says the crossbreeding operation has taken around 1,500 hours and some 180,000 Euro (£156,500) to build.

....and it is not the only supercar Citroen van conversion. There was a feature in Classic and Sports Car mag from the mid 1990's that had one that sold for about 12,ooo quid that had all Lotus Esprit mechanicals. Fantastic performance and it looked completely standard.

This is just a modern hot-rod, Or hot-mod? Or mod rod? Or Mod hot rod? Basically stuffing high output gear into the most basic shell. It is fabulous. Don't forget that Ford (RIP) did this with the properly-silly Transit Supervan & Supervan II. Also remember Renault's MkII F1 Espace - The essential get-away vehicle for the dedicated mass-murderer (I can't help thinking that Renault missed a trick by not producing an Espace Hearse - The Perfect destiny for the Avantime, perhaps?). To make the TOO-CV perfect? - Forget the flash Ferrari rosso paint scheme. Give it a proper retro-franco 'Monsieur Marsaud pan-van' beige paint job - Screw some Moon discs on to hide the alloy wheels and away we go. Ooo la-la!... I have been planning for a while to build the world's fastest 1/4-mile distance shopping trolley. I would appreciate some competition to spur me on in this stupid, futile and misguided endevour.
