Aston

To kick off your Monday, a quick guide to good and bad paintjobs of the world, courtesy of your art critic hosts at Top Gear.

Sitting firmly in the 'very good' corner is the Aston Martin Vantage in the top picture. While perhaps not quite as epic as the Gulf-liveried Aston DBR9 we showed you earlier this month, it's still an object lesson in blue-and-orange paintsmanship. We like blue-and-orange paintsmanship.

In the 'not bad but probably not quite as cool as it thinks it is' corner (probably more a sort of middle ground than a corner, in fact) is the Union Jack-liveried Lotus Exige in the second picture.

Created for a Discovery Channel documentary, the Exige features a vinyl-wrapped exterior that, says Lotus, 'shows the essence of speed and movement'.

And, finally, in the 'please, please, make it stop' corner sits the Kappa Citroen C2. Set to be shown off by Chinese-based Dongfeng Citroen at the Beijing Auto Show next month, the modified C2 gets an, erm, unique bodykit and not-so-classic Kappa paintjob. Yes, it looks like a shoe.

Dongfeng, it's simple. Want an awesome colour scheme that makes everyone happy? Martini stripes. Every time. Job done.
