Audi RS6

Good news for the common man. Audi has just launched a cheaper version of the RS6. It's called... the RS6 saloon.

Which is brilliant news if you were just £1,570 short on the list price of an Avant. So like us, you'll probably rush home this evening, smash open the piggy bank and leg it to your local Audi dealer. There's never been a more affordable way to get a twin-turbo, 5-litre V10 on your driveway.

Who'd have though a boot was worth £1,570? If only they'€™d chopped it off in the first place, we could all be hooning around in 570bhp Audi rocketships. Albeit with somewhat limited bootspace.

We think that represents some excellent value motoring. And who said Top Gear doesn't do useful consumer advice?

Now, if only Ferrari could find a way to shave a few quid off a 599. You don't need that passenger seat, do you?
