Subaru Impreza WRX STI

This must be a first: a hot Subaru Impreza that tries to be discreet.

The Impreza WRX STI spec.D is the latest edition of the Scooby performance dynasty, and the 'D' stands for discreet.

The £28,495 four-wheel drive machine still has a 279bhp 2.5 litre 'boxer' four-cylinder engine, but the usual wings and scoops have been toned down.

Gone is the big back wing, gold alloy wheels and lairy colour schemes. In their place comes a small rear spoiler, silver coloured alloys and subtle grey metallic paint.

Some things have not been toned down, thankfully, and the spec.D will crack 0-60mph in five seconds and top out at 158mph.

If you're the shy, retiring type of speed junky, the spec.D is on sale now.
