No space, marginal pace, no grace. No point

Better than a poke in the eye? No, actually.

Lumma CLR600S

Someone poke us in the eye quick and save us from the visual onslaught that is the Lumma Design CLR600S.

It's no joke; this is a BMW M6 cabrio with more plastic fitted to it than a whole toyshop's worth of Airfix kits - and it wasn't the most shy and retiring 200mph-capable ragtop in the world in the first place.

Check it out, the list of styling crimes includes a front spoiler, side sills with air intakes (for what?) with diffuser and a rear spoiler. If the wing is a little too tasteful and subtle, you could go the whole hog and choose the larger optional rear wing re-trimmed in leopardskin. Sadly, only the leopardskin part of that statement is a lie.

Lumma doesn't stop there, though. Oh no, the CLR600S is lowered by 3cm and there are 20- or 21in alloy wheels to choose from, which should sharpen up the ride perfectly after BMW spent so little time getting it right in the first place.

The interior doesn't escape the restyled onslaught and gains tinted instrument gauges, aluminium pedals and a choice of wood 'n' leather or carbon fibre and leather for the steering wheel.

Even the out-of-sight bits didn't escape; under the bonnet, Lumma has added its own carbon fibre air intake, sports exhaust and red laminated valve covers - worth the price of admission alone. Just don't drive it in daylight - people will laugh.
