Peugeot 207 GTI

Thousands of young men will sigh with relief at the start of next month.

But before you panic buy tissues, it's the launch of the Peugeot 207 GTi, one of the most eagerly anticipated hot hatches.

The covers will be pulled back at the Geneva motor show to reveal a 175bhp GTi.

No word on performance or pricing yet from Peugeot, but the engine is shared with the Mini Cooper S, so expect it to perform keenly.

Peugeot also has a couple of other 207-based delights for Geneva showgoers.

There's the 207 CC, which arrives in showrooms in May alongside the GTi, while the third 207 model on show is a vehicle called the SW Outdoor Concept.

There are no prizes for guessing this is an estate version of the 207 and, while titled a concept, will probably result in a small wagon model in the line-up.

With butched-up exterior styling, the 207 SW has a split rear tailgate and bootspace covered with ribbed plastic runners to protect the load floor.

Expect to see the 207 SW become a showroom reality around the end of this year.
