Audi S6

Audi has been busy shoe-horning the V10 engine from a Lamborghini Gallardo into the A6 to create the S6, and the German firm has chosen Detroit to show off the results to the world.

Engine capacity has been upped to 5.2 litres, but power is a more restrained 414bhp compared with the Lambo's 492bhp.

But then you cannot buy a Gallardo as an estate car. Yep, there's an Avant estate version of the S6 that gets from 0-62mph in 5.3 seconds, which is just behind the saloon's 5.2 seconds.

Both S6 models are restricted to 155mph.

Four-wheel drive is present and correct, with drive passing through a six-speed automatic gearbox.

The S6 touches down in the UK in April, with a price expected somewhere around £60,000, but Audi is holding back information about a full-fat RS6 model.
