New Avensis exists

There's a new Toyota Avensis on its way to Paris. Look, there it is in the top picture, on its way to Paris. All new and shiny.

And that's about all we know. It looks, erm, nice. Just like the old Avensis looked nice. And we're told that it'll feature engines, which is always nice. Engines that are more powerful and less CO2-ful than in the current Avensis.

Beyond that, nothing. Apart from the fact that it'll be built in Derbyshire, which has us hoping that it'll at least have an amusing regional accent.

We'll find out more in Paris, along with a couple of other new Toyotas: the production versions of the iQ and the Urban Cruiser.

The iQ, you'll remember, is the brilliantly packaged little city car that Toyota is calling 'the world's smallest four-seater'.

Like JC's tank, it should be congestion charge exempt and qualify for free road tax, emitting just 99g/km of CO2.

And the Urban Cruiser? Well, it's still got the Village People name, along with Toyota's 1.4-litre D-4D diesel engine and Scion-inspired chunky lines.

So which one are you most looking forward to seeing in Paris? The Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport, you say? Ah...
