Dirt ’Bath
Today is becoming a good day for small, fast things. We've already seen the Renaultsport Twingo Mug, and now Fiat has revealed its 500-based rally car.
It is called the Abarth 500 R3T and, ahhhh, isn't it cute? The beefed-up Cinq is ready to race in Group R3T rallies, a class comprising cars with turbocharged engines smaller than 1.6 litres.
Like the road-going Abarth, the rally 500 is powered by Fiat's 1.4-litre petrol engine, with a bigger turbo boosting power to 178bhp, 20bhp more than the Esseesse.
Weighing it at just 1,080kg, it should be a riot to drive. The 500 R3T gets a six-speed sequential gearbox, proper racing diff and adjustable suspension. Fiat says it's the ideal car to introduce younger racers to rallying without the terrifying running costs associated with the higher groups.
More importantly, it has loads of lights and Italian racing stripes and big white wheels and stickers! What's not to love?

I love the Fiat 500 and I think this is the best variant yet! Isn't it supposed to be the 500 Arbarth SS though Top Gear?

oh joy!a sprightly little italian rally car..however with all those lights up front it kind of looks like a spider..whats with fiat and insects?after all the abarth emblem has a scorpion.

I dont think Fiat will ever run out of ideas of stuff to do with the 500. I do actually love this car!!

Don't like the extra lights there... The plastic casing makes it look like they're some kind of growth like sprouts on a potato :-S ...Yes, that is a strange comparison :-D

Ahhhh... Our little boy is growing up! Really sweet. I didn't take to the new 500, but I'm reconsidering. @Mikeado: His dad probably owns a Marina. One of Satan's many weapons to get us to, at least, swear a lot. Windows is another fine example.

It looks awesome but it looks like its very nose heavy cuse of those lights upfront,but otherwise it looks like a proper italian car and i love it...
