Video: Giulietta gets teasy
We won't officially see the Giulietta - Alfa Romeo's 147 replacement - until the Geneva show in March.
But a teasy promotional video for the Giulietta has surfaced on the internet, giving us a decent look at the Golf-sized hatch.
The Giulietta will be launched this summer in the UK as a five-door - no three-door variant is planned - with a range of all-turbocharged engines ranging from a 120bhp petrol to Alfa's 170bhp diesel. We should see a 230bhp ‘Cloverleaf' hot hatch variant some time in 2011.
For now, though, take a look at the weirdly overlit promo video and let us know what you think of the Giulietta. A quick warning: if you're not a fan of flashing lights, or you've just downed a treble espresso, you might want to steer clear - the editing could be described as ‘schizophrenic'.
Oh, and watch out for our favourite subtitle, around the 25-second mark. 'I'm your Alfa Ego.' Surely that's what they should have called the Giulietta? The Alfa Ego: it's got a good ring to it...

As an Italian, I am ashamed about how bad the commentary of this teaser sounds. It looks like it was written in English and then (badly) translated in Italian. The car, though, looks just AWESOME.

Looks really good from the back. I love those tail lights.... Too bad it's got those mingerish Mito headlamps which spoils the look from the front. Should have had given it the Brera/159 headlamps instead. Still I'ld say this is the best looking hatch! After the Brera, if you can call that a hatch...

The back is looking very good indeed, but the nose is too round at the bottom, and too high from the ground as well. Maybe the front it will look better in the flesh though. Anyway no more Alfa's for me; my 156 never gave me problems, but my 3.2 GT had many many problems, and so does the 2.4 159SW I have now...

Hmm...this article and the video don't seem to match up.The video mentions a thoroughbred sports car with a "high performance engine" but this article only mentions a soon to be avaliable 170hp diesel engine and we have to wait another year for the 210hp engine.Doesn't sound so high performance to me.Looks good though.

this alfa is fantastic, it looks really awesome and it is not a MiTo replacement, it is the new Giulietta, the legendary Giulietta, which in 1955 was the most powerful, confortable, economical in every sense and with a great braking system car ever seen. I hope it will mark, again, an era, because the name Giulietta is not a common name...

I.... Want.... One! That car is so beautiful! In red even better. Although, the want part doesn't mean I have money for it but if I had, that would be my next car, simply gorgeous. Alfa Romeo is bringing the most beautiful cars today aside from other manufacturers

i think i'd go for the Mi.To GTA . Still, the Giulietta is quite good looking.

Looks good. From the side. And the rear is just hot. But the front... not horrible, but not great either. Unfortunately I don't see how those amazing 159/Brera headlights could work on this car... I suppose that's what their designers thought too.

As a very happy MiTo owner, I can't but love it. For te first time since I have it, I would like to need a bigger car, there wouldn't be much doubt about which car to buy...

We seemed to have entered a time when good looking cars have been getting revised or updated to look uglier. the golf is one example the old model was quite nice, and then vw had the bright idea of giving it an ugly face that makes it look like a troll, and that makes the polo a better choice. Peugeot have been steadilly going downstream since pinifarina stopped designing the 306 was good looking, the 307 no, and the 308 looks like a big nose. alfa makes the 159 easily the best looking car around why not make this car look like it as opposed to a car that noddy would drive
