Tough Competizione
According to the internet grapevine - a trusted source of information if there ever was one - Alfa Romeo is readying a hardcore GTA version of the 8C Competitzione.
However, there could be some truth in the rumour because 2010 is Alfa Romeo's centenary year and the company will undoubtedly want to mark the occasion with a special car.
The most special car they currently build is the 8C, and as there is little time to develop a brand new car, an uprated version of the 8C is the most logical solution.
The GTA is expected to be lighter and more powerful than the current car - as little as 1300kgs and as much as 500bhp has been mooted.
This would make it Alfa's fastest ever car - faster even than Jezza's 75. Yes, really.
In the meantime, production is about to begin of the Alfa Romeo 8C Spider. Want one.
