"The 24 hour race is the ultimate road test and a fitting introduction for the V12 Zagato."
Those are the words of Dr Ulrich Bez, MasterChief of Aston Martin and a man who has confirmed that the bespoke V12-engined Zagato stunner revealed last week will gets its racing wings.
First up is the 53rd ADAC ACAS H&R Cup VLN race on 28 May, followed by a Dr Bez-led driver team that will eventually race two Zagato V12 racers at the Nurburgring 24hr race.

"Nurburgring is where we sign-off every new model in terms of dynamics, and there can be no better place for the new V12 Zagato to be finally tested", says the good Doctor.
It doesn't stop there, either. Its baptism of rather oversteery fire at the ‘Ring could be followed by an actual, road-homologated V12 Zagato, such was the reaction when it hit Villa d'Este last week...

Damn. I am normally a little repulsed by the bloated heaviness of most Astons. But this thing could be the most beautiful car ever made, especially if imagined without the gigantic rear spoiler. Has the Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B Touring Spider finally lost its crown?
