This, Top Gear fans, is the new Vauxhall Turkey. Sorry, ‘Turnkey'.
It's the latest off-the-shelf rozzer car from GM and, as you've probably noticed, it's also the new Astra. British bobbies have been thrashing around in Astras for years now and as any surburbanite will tell you, a petty crime isn't a petty crime without the soundtrack of an utterly spanked diesel engine and crap siren.
But this new car is a bit sparklier than usual. Coppers can now choose from three levels of police graphics: half, three-quarter and full.
Half? Surely that means a couple of fluorescent squares and the word ‘Pol' stuck down the side. Maybe it's a cost-saving thing. Or maybe it's just a plan to fool thick criminals.
We reckon they could have gone further. Like the telly boys did with theirs...
You call that a cop car?
New off-the-shelf Police cars from Vauxhall prove Clarkson and the boys can do it better...

We have "halfs" in aus. basically they are unmarked police cars with police stripe on the sides and back. so they look like normal holden commodores (the basic family car the VXR8 is based on) from the front and from all other angles they look like a weird semi cop car. the fact that they dont have lights on the roof and are a dark colour means they can sneek up on you from behind without u noticing its a cop but when they need to go on chases the strip on the other panels makes them very visible. they are like ninja cops.

lol "ninja cops" - Milamber In Tas they don't even have the stripes, they just have a plain holdern but with a cop in uniform inside and when they need to they put a light on the dash. Though all the cars they have are usually the same colour sorta of a light satin desert-ish browny colour.

Cops in VXR8s....nice idea - while they're busy going sideways the crims can make a speedy getaway....hehe...
