As the Geneva Motor Show approaches the new cars keep on coming, and this is the new Audi RS5 - a quicker, softly resculpted version of the 2010 RS5.
The 0-62mph dash has been whittled down to 4.5 seconds (preciously 4.6 seconds), MPG's improved from 26.2 to 26.9, and CO2 emissions have been pared down from 252g/km 246g/km.
Juicy.
Outside, you get a marginally different grille, rerouted LED lights and an almost-indistinguishable new bumper.
Inside, there's a bit more kit offered as standard - DVD navigation, Bluetooth, cruise control and an iPod connection.
It keeps the Lambo-derived 444bhp 4.2-litre V8, seven-speed S tronic ‘box and quattro four-wheel drive system as standard. And, indeed, the heavyweight price tag - you'll need £58,725 to get your hands on one.
It goes on sale in April. The last RS5 wasn't a huge favourite in the Top Gear office, it has to be said, but that didn't stop Jeremy driving one very quickly against an M3...
Audi releases its new RS5 coupe
It’s faster, differently illuminated, very slightly more efficient, and costs the same

Looks lovely though. I'm a big fan of the styling and the V8, just a shame it's apparently not the last word dynamically.

Could just be my computer, but it does look quite a lot like a hippo that has been punched in the face. Repeatedly.

I "was" so looking forward to the RS5 to replace my '10 S5. I say was when the price tag in the US will be $90K for 316 Ft lb torque, and 444HP normally aspirated V8. So weak. At least put a Supercharger or twin turbo for 90K. I would consider this if it was 65-70k for what it is. '12 550i with Dinan = 500 HP, 580 Ft lb torque for $80K (TT V8 AWD). I believe this car does not deserve the RS moniker. It should have been called S5 or something less significant. I hope I'm wrong on the price, otherwise I'll be saying good-bye to Audi and going back to BMW.

If I were to choose between the german compact performance saloons and coupes (that's a funny-named list by the way...) I would get this one, I just love Audi's 5 series
