More pictures of the Audi TT RS
Last week we showed you a couple of teaser pictures of the new Audi TT RS, and today we’ve got the whole damn thing. In convertible and coupe form.
The most striking feature is that monster new fixed rear wing which, with any luck, should keep you firmly stuck to the tarmac. We like the deeper front air intakes, too. And the big arches. And the chin splitter. And those oval pipes that point this out as an RS. In fact, we like it all.
Audi still isn’t confirming the technical details of the TT RS, so let’s summarise what we know so far: a 2.5-litre five-pot turbo petrol engine putting out around 340bhp and propelling the TT RS to 62mph in about 4.5 seconds through Audi’s quattro four-wheel drive. Blindingly fast, in other words.
We’ll find out all the rest in Geneva next week, but for now consider this: would it be really, really poor form to stick a couple of carbon fibre sideblades on your TT RS and pass it off as an Audi R8 that got shrunk in the wash?

Yup, looks exactly like I thought it would (Expect a sidebladed version in Fazinazion soon). I still can't see it as a Porsche or Nissan Z rival. It just looks like it's trying too hard with the huge scoops (could even be gimmicks) and spoiler.

It isn't trying too hard because 340bhp is VERY powerful and this car is tiny so it needs some downforce to keep it on the road or you'll be choking to death! how much will this be though?

dave560 - There's no word on pricing as yet, but when you consider that the 268bhp TT S lists at £35k, we reckon the TT RS will be well north of £40,000 when it goes on sale in the summer. That's a whole lot of cash, but let's be honest: it's going to absolutely muller a 370Z or BMW Z4 on absolutely any road. But - and we'd like to know your opinion here - can a TT ever be special enough to justify a 40 grand price tag?
