Audi reveals TT RS specs and prices in Geneva

Audi TT RS

Power and prices. Those are the two things we didn't already know about the Audi TT RS. But thanks to the magic of Geneva hob-nobbing, we've just got the answers.

The coupe? £42,980 and 0-62 in 4.6 seconds. The roadster? £44,880 and 0-62 in 4.7 seconds. And they both have 340bhp. Headline-grabbing stuff then.

They'll have an all-new engine too - a 2.5-litre five-cylinder petrol, which harks back to the quattros of yesteryear. This one's slightly more modern though, and is actually half an RS6 engine, which itself is derived from a Lamborghini unit. Think of your TT RS as a quarter-Lambo, then.

The order books will be opened in March and deliveries will start in the summer.

All the TTs were something astonishing. As the time went on, it seems that they become better and better. So I like this model too: the spoiler is something that this car really needs. It looks like a toy,but when you remember that it has 340 bhp you understand that you want to become a kid again and play with it. Its really marvellous car!

if im honest the current TTs have not quite stood out like the old TT with the exception of the TT-S which is stunning. Its amazing how fast you can go with a 2.5 litre engine. If im honest though i have always thought the Audi TT has been overshadowed by the competition like the Z4, SLK and of course the boxster which each of them had there own market and TT didnt seem to fit into one exact one it was like the lonely kid it didnt have a metal folding roof to be compared to the SLK, it wasnt as good to drive to be compared with the boxster and was not outrageous looking enough to be compared to the Z4 but the TT-S and now TT-RS looks the business and will hopefully drive well but still think the competition will beat it. Also is there an option to have the spoiler taken off ive always liked the TT clean lines prefered the spoiler that pops up and down and looks cooler just makes it look like a chav did it

4.6 seconds? That's amazing. It's nearly as fast as the Audi R8 if not exactly as fast. But I don't for one minute think it'll drive as R8 too. The R8 has a sophisticated AWD system with focus on rear wheels, the energy is coming to the front wheels only when computer decides to help it go faster around a corner. The TT on the other hand drives like a FWD car, the rear wheels are only engaged when a wheelspin is detected.

"a quarter-lambo". Fair enough, but now you'll have men buying it, caliming they haven't got an Audi.
