Geneva: Bentley Flying Star by Touring
We love this thing. It's a Bentley Conti GT with a new ‘shooting brake' hatchback body by Touring Superleggera. It's a car in the proper Italian coachbuilding tradition, a one-off commission for a client who's obviously got as much money as he has taste.
If you're in that position, they'll build one for you too.
And in case you fear it's just a DIY lash-up, note that Bentley was involved in making sure the quality was up to snuff. That's why it let Touring use the B-word.
At the show, we were standing staring weak-kneed at the thing when VW's head of engineering Ulrich Eichhorn ambled by. We asked him what he thought and he smiled and showed us several of its best features. Yes, he's a fan too.
Later we bumped into Rolls-Royce's design mainman Ian Cameron and asked him if he'd seen anything he liked at the show. Top of his list, too, was the same Touring Bentley.

I think they should offer this version too, for everyone willing to buy a Bentley. It looks just as good, if not better.

shooting brake is the type of car body, especially coupe, with 3 doors and trunk section like in universals (SUV's or many off-roaders) and trunk door opens together with rear whindsheld :-)

People never stop amazing me. Vulgar? Camaro? Not new enough? What the hell? It is meant to be tasteful and subtle so that it looks like a car Bentley did( and it does). The new Camaro is not as rounded,and isnt even a hatch. And it doesnt look like a concept car because its not, it is an existing car that has been modified by a coachbuilder, so if it looks like a continental, thats because that is what it was before the rich guy paid to have it built. It is nicely done, and you guys are crazy.

Although I appreciate their elegance, I'm NOT a Bentley expert. This car has no screaming colours and no daringly "original" lines but looks like a proper Bentley. I probably could NOT see directly that this car is modified. And that, I take, is the whole point to it.

Beautiful car, they've done a really good job on it. I dont know what it is about Shooting Breaks that makes it so, but they just have an aura of coolness around them...

the moon doesn't technically weigh anything. it has a large mass though. And this car isn't a concept. it's just a modification that someone wanted done to their ridiculously expensive bentley. and it's awesome!

Vw has owned british car makers for ever and almost every thing on germanys british cars is german but the thing about germany is that every 3 seconds a new car comes out exept for the brits so what vw did was make one car (the continental) and then ent to make the new golf vw are not giving bentley the attention that bentley needs and if someone else dosnt do somthing they are going to be making the same 4 cars for 20 or 30 years
