It's the baby M car you've been badgering Internet forums about for years, and now it's finally here.
BMW has released this new video showcasing - for the first time - the 1-Series M Coupe shorn of its camouflage and looking rather dandy.
BMW aren't calling it the M1, because of course, that was their one and only supercar. But they are calling it the true, pure-blooded heir to the original geek-tastic E30 M3 of the 1980s. We'll reserve judgment until we've driven it (watch this space), but be in no doubt it is a proper M car.

Headline stats include a 3.0-litre twin-turbo straight six engine pumping out 340bhp - a steroidal version of the 135i's - chassis/brakes/rear diff like the current M3 and a kerb weight of 1,500kg; a veritable porker compared to the featherweight E30.

Have it the paintjob of that rendered CSL and its an absolute stunning looking car... Wasn't a great Beamer fan for now, but that car could definitely change my mind!

Not a Beemer fan either and haven't changed my mind. Looks ok but it's too heavy. Make it under 1000 and I'll start thinking. And it still doesn't look like a shark with a kidney grille. 2nd comment.

I actually think that the 1 series coupe is the ONLY BMW with any kind of character at the moment, and probably in the last decade or more. Needless to say, this is the only BMW in years that has had me interested. Just a shame Audi have missed the point by making the A3 RS five door only so there will be no competition.

a more interesting video than audi can make, but only thing is modern bmws dont look as good as they used to.

very nice, my 120d m sport with 18" is rubish in snow though not been anyware for 5 days boo hoo
