BMW Hydrogen 7

BMW is introducing its much talked-about Hydrogen 7 to the UK.

But before hailing this as a big step forward in the green debate, consider that there are only 100 Hydrogen 7s in the world and eight of them are coming to the UK.

BMW intends to use the eight cars to highlight hydrogen as a fuel and will use the 7-Series as chauffeur cars for a variety of swish events during the summer.

Using a V12 engine with 260bhp, the Hydrogen 7 manages 0-62mph in 9.5 seconds and has a top speed of 143mph, while emitting nothing more harmful than water from its exhaust while running on hydrogen.

There's a standard petrol fuel tank to add a further 300 miles to the 125-mile range of the hydrogen tank.

So, if you want to experience a Hydrogen 7, get famous and get invited to a fancy social event this summer.
