Video: M3 GTS hits the track
If, for some inexplicable reason you weren't excited by BMW's announcement last week of the M3 GTS - the spiritual successor to the lightweight, hardcore CSL - we have just the tonic.
Here's a quick video of the GTS spinning on its SEMA show stand - and, more importantly, spinning around a desolate track in full oversteer mode.
For a sticky-tyred, track-ready super saloon, it looks... rather slidey. That'll be the effect of 450bhp charging through the rear tyres, then.

Old CSL looked better, but I like the not oversized vents in the bonnet, the front lip, the exhaust and the wing as it's not silly on a track car.. Nice touch but it would look better in black. I think in general the older m3s was cleaner and better looking but this ain't ugly, it's purpose built... I want one!

the m3 looks very cool to me but this paint scheme just doesnt fit.

The orange is almost awful. The GT3 RS can pull it of, This, not so much

i think that the reason this car was so slidey was because it was being driven by clarkson. probably. looks gorgeous, and i bet it'll drive brilliantly too.

Blacking out the chrome has long been a favourite amongst tuners and I like it, Black on lairy (whatever colour) works well. Now you have to remember this car is for the track so why complain about all the track focused stuff on it? If you want an everyday road car get the normal M3. The problem with most cars is theyre not focused enough on what theyre meant to be, if youre gonna make a track car make a track car, if you want a road car make a road car, stop trying to compromise. This car seems to be focused and is all the better for it.

I see no driving here that an ordinary M3 couldn't do. And I still think that apologetically small spoiler looks daft. I remain unimpressed.

i love the look of the m3.......but......................it doesnt perform as well........the handling is amazing but it feels left out of the competition....like it dont belong there.....its for the rich teenage kids who buy things theyre not sure of

it dusnt look very good and y pay more for a less useable less good looking track day special when u could have a normal m3 which is really cant be improved on!!! silly car will wait for some reviews on how it drives.

good, but 100k buys you a corvette zr1, wat faster, way more useable. heck you could even buy a 911 gt3 if your in to the arse pummeling bucket seat stuff.

i personnally prefer the old CSL if i'm honnest, but i bet that'll be one hell of a car and by the looks of things could make one mean drift machine

Looks rubbish (I don't think orange & black helps), but it'll be brilliant to drive, and if you're driving, you don't have to look at it.
