Bleu is the colour
If the standard, boring, 1001bhp, open-top Veyron Grand Sport is just too commonplace for your exacting standards, how about a one-off Grand Sport Sang Bleu?
Bugatti unveiled this special edition convertible Veyron at Pebble Beach over the weekend. As the Sang Noir special edition Veyron featured a black-on-black livery, so the Sang Bleu – yep, it means ‘blue blood’ in French – is decked out in blue carbon fibre and polished aluminium.
Mechanically, the Sang Bleu identical to the standard Veyron Grand Sport – though it’s tough to argue with a thousand-bhp 8.0-litre W16 engine and a 0-60mph time comfortably under three seconds.
So, yeah, we’ll take one, please. Ta. But we can’t helping wondering whether Bugatti is slightly confusing the term ‘special edition’ with the term ‘paintjob’. Gorgeous as the Sang Bleu is, can they keep claiming another special edition each time they paint a Veyron in a new colour?
Maybe this is how to add value to your knackered old Vauxhall Nova come resale time. Paint the bonnet and roof in some improbable shade of fluorescent yellow – to contrast nicely with the beige doors – call it the Nova Coeur Jaune and add £500 to the part-ex value. Another recession-busting Top Gear Top Tip there…

This is the best looking veyron i've seen. The color is perfect!! Now i've just gotta check how much all that change in my piggy bank adds upto....

If it can make it over the Himalaya sized speedbumps down the road without going into orbit I'll take it. If not, I'll stick with the Colt Red.

i do wonder why they keep doing that. maybe they can not think of a new design. which confuses me. if veritas can come up with a 4x4 then surely bugatti can make a hot hatch. wow that would be great. are there any bugatti engineers on here. please use my idea! anywho, thanks for the tip tg!

Definitely an awesome car, but if I had 2 million quid I'd spend it on an Aston or a Lambo. Both actually.

^ They are the same wheels fitted to the original Grand Sport, just with painted centres. Also, Bugatti are developing a replecement - last thing I knew, anyway - and are 'planning something special for their centenniary'. Probably a gold paintjob...

Car manufacturers have been doing this for ages. End of line, lots of old stock to get rid off - so put a pin stripe on it and a graphic saying 'eclipse' or 'ecosse' or similar on the back and call it a special edition. Honda had a class one with the 50th anniversary car - I think the only difference in the accord was the badge. Maybe to really push the boat out they should pin stripe the seats, then it would be worth more...

pointless rubbish stupid fat ugly. No appeal at all except the speed and in this country there is no speed. Buy a Zonda F Roadster instead. Still want one though.

if they call each different colour a special edition they must be copying porche when they unveil a new 911. nonetheless this is a magnificant car and each veyron is a special edition

this is the best car ever! i really really like this car........but very expensive price indeed ...the engine are the greatest ever W16! its more than Aston Martin DB9 with only V12 engine!... it's just WOW!

By far the best color for a Veyron is WHITE. Only one word sums up this car. GOD!!!!! god wears white and so should the veyron
