Cam’ buster
If you're a red-blooded petrolhead with the smell of burning clutch in your nostrils and other clichéd stuff like that, you probably want a Camaro.
Until now, the only way to get yourself a lump of Chevy muscle in the UK has been to import a left-hooker from the States: too much paperwork and hassle for most.
But now this, the VR Camaro, is heading to our shores in full UK spec. As you'll have noticed, it's quite a bit more than just an imported Camaro: the two-door muscle car has been thoroughly worked over by Danish design consultancy Hermann and Brandt, which has opted for something of a Lambo Reventon aesthetic.
That new front bumper, with its massive air intakes, is made from carbon fibre, as are the side skirts and the new ducktail-style rear spoiler - which means it'll be a bit lighter than the stock Camaro.
It'll be quicker, too. Though we're yet to have figures confirmed, the shadowy figures behind the VR Camaro say they will fit the 6.2-litre V8 with a UK-built supercharger, which should push power north of 600bhp.
That means it could be a rival for the awesome Corvette ZR-1... but potentially at half the price.
It could be a proper monster, but we'll retain our trademark mild scepticism until the VR Camaro arrives early next year. Until then, what do you think of the looks? Hot Wheels good or Halfords bad?

I think you can get away with anything when it comes to American muscle cars so it looks good no matter how many dodgy mods are on it. A Camaro in RHD is very tempting but I'd still prefer a RHD Mustang.

Well if I could have it without the gold bits (hmm... Dutch, gold... was this car designed by Goldmember himself?) it looks awesome. or swap the silver for black, might set off the gold bits better. but a lighter, more powerful Cammy than the Americans get is always good.

I quite like the new Camaro. It's not a patch on the '67 SS version, but it's nice. This one looks like it should be firing missiles out of those front intakes. But the rest of the car is nicely rounded, why did they go all angled for the kit? It works on the Reventon because Lambos are basically triangular, but on a muscle car? Hmm.

Not a fan of the Reventon-body kit, big fan of the supercharger. Incidentally, the base Cam runs a 300hp direct-injection V6 that will run on 87-octane, give you good performance, decent gas mileage, and price out at the equivalent of £15,000. Sounds pretty useful to me. (And, btw, the folks who brought you the Reventaro/Camaroton pictured here are from Denmark, which is slightly to the East of "America", last time I looked.)

As an American I'd have to say they ruined the camero sure trim the fat with carbon fiber and put some real ram air scoops on it but who ever put the bumper of a lambo on it and let a pimp paint it should be dragged in to a field and shot.

Looks great apart from those ridiculous front intakes which just don't work for me. Of course, it still won't go round corners and pretty much any Euro or Jap super-box will run rings round it, but it's honest about what it is and good value for that much muscle. Who wouldn't want to pull up at the lights in one and blip the loud pedal?

The Camaro is a great car. In fact, all of the new cars coming out of GM and Ford are great. I dont understand why yall are always constantly putting them down while basically knowing nothing about them. its not like any british car outside of Aston Martin or Jaguar is anything to write home about.

I really like the styling of the new Camaro it's a throwback to the time when they were really cool cars. This car looks aggressive like a muscle car should, but the bumper and color just don't do it for me. Should have never let the Danish get their hands on the styling aspect.

I'm a great fan of the dodge viper, chevy corvette and the ford gt, but not the camaro. But when i saw the new one, that made me like it. But this new on is even better! They should put this car in the upcoming tranformers movie (if they'll be one). I love the styling of the car. It does remind me of the reventon. But this is the reventon, American/chevy style!!!!
