Warner Bros has released an official image of the Catwoman from next year's Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises.
Played by Anne Hathaway, the image tells us nothing of her role in the new movie, other than the fact she appears to have borrowed/stolen Batman's prized bike, she will don a tight black leather costume, and, erm, she is Catwoman.

No doubt we'll be drip fed more information leading up to its July 2012 release date, but we'd like to take this opportunity to discuss a couple of points.
First, should there even be a Catwoman in this film? Director Christopher Nolan has a habit of cramming his Batman films with as many characters from his back story as possible. 2005's Batman Begins had Ra's Al Ghul, The Scarecrow, Henri Ducard, Carmine Falcone and even Rutger Hauer's evil boss Earle, while The Dark Knight had the Joker, Two-Face, Lau, Maroni and the Scarecrow (again). Too many?
And more importantly, we noticed earlier this year that Bruce Wayne appears to have gotten himself a Lamborghini Aventador. Is this the correct choice for our favourite billionaire vigilante?

If she can control that monstrosity she's wonderwoman. Anybody here interested in yet another superhero movie, at all?

Anne Hathaway may be "cute" but Catwoman is supposed to be sexy and oozing sex-appeal. Not a good choice in actress if I'm honest. In terms of there being too many characters in the new movie (as with the older Nolan-Batman movies), as long as there's enough screen time with our favourite psycho/hero/playboy protagonist, I say cool!!

I am actually looking forward to it... Anne Hathaway isn't actually the obvious choice for the role. but the franchise always amazes me with the performances that the actors put out like the joker by Mr. ledger looking forward to it..

She's so far from the obvious choice that I'm suddenly less excited to see the new movie, despite the Aventador. Neither does she look mischievous nor very smart in that picture - as far away from the traits of Catwoman as can be in my opinion. If this goes on, I'd rather play the new game 20 times than watch this movie once. Check the Catwoman trailer for the game, THAT's what she should be like. Try and convince me, WB.
