Chevy's new Aveo falls seriously short in the looks department

Chevrolet Aveo

Look at this picture and admit that there is no fibre of any part of your being that actually, actively wants the new Chevrolet Aveo.

You may accept one as a better transport solution than, say, crawling over broken crack pipes, but you don't want one.

There's the Audi mouth. Hum. The random wheelarch treatments. Oh. The swage lines. What? Chevrolet thinks it looks 'futuristic'. We were thinking something a little more vulgar.

There will be two petrol engines at launch in Spring 2008, covered by a 83bhp 1.2-litre and a 97bhp 1.4 that comes with an automatic gearbox as standard. Chevy reckons it will have a 'high class' cabin and better build quality than previous small Chevrolets.

And although there's no word on prices, Chevy expects the Aveo to sell for less than an equivalent Vauxhall Corsa.

Contain yourselves.

As an Chevy Aveo owner I'd like to point out that it actually is a very lovely car, especially if you look at its design in the United States. It has a much sleeker design in my opionin than its British counterpart.
