Citroen: rockin’ like it’s 1919
Whatever you were planning to do for the next 90 seconds, stop it right now. Unless there's, like, a fire or something, in which case proceed calmly to the nearest exit.
Otherwise, turn up your speakers and enjoy this little bit of loveliness from Citroen.
It's a brilliant advert celebrating 90 years of defiantly Gallic car-building and features 2CVs, DSs, Seb Loeb sliding round corners, that mad C-Cactus concept, the Pope, grimy old factories and, oh, loads of other excellent stuff, all to a rather fine soundtrack.
Yeah, we know 90 isn't the most significant anniversary, but we'll let it slide, simply because it's such a damn fine little slice of televisual excellence.
Just imagine what they'll do for the 100th anniversary, too...

That's a cool video. I like their mad designs. It's just a shame that sod all of them reach the road. The C6 is proof that it can happen though. It just has to be a normal car underneath.

So its taken them 89 years to make a fantastic car which atm is a concept and was developed by gran turismo. Citreon just fail except in france where they are loved. That GT looks amazing !!!

That was a little too much hype for an ok video. I'm not saying there's a problem with the video, but you made it seem like there were going to be naked ladies in car crashes and if I missed it I would most assuredly regret it for the next two days.

cool vid but have to agree with @mikeado that its such a shame that none of the really good looking concepts ever make it anywhere near production.

AML-DBR9 - Citroen fail except in France? Hmm, that's why the Picasso has been Britain's best selling MPV for years. And that's why they have such a huge following in the UK and quite a few other European countries.

Aah.. so typically French. They produce some wonderfully eccentric cars, whilst giving a gallic shrug and puffing on a gauloise cigarette. How would Mssr J. Clarkson may put it? Ah yes,... those cheese eating surrender monkeys are obviously still feeling the effects of consuming too much absynthe in the early 20th century.

I had French, Italian, British, German and Japanese cars and still I miss my first one: a Citroen Dyane. Such a huge fun while sipping gasoline through a straw. Struggling 32HP uphill but nobody could touch me downhill. And I went through harsh country roads without even noticing the change in the surface.

Ahh! The Dyane. Definitely the best of the A-series cars. I took my Ami 8 out today and loved the looks it attracted. Citroens - love 'em or hate 'em, you can't just ignore them. Here's to the 100th anniversary - I'm looking forward to it.

my favourite car company is citroen i think they have made fantastic cars the cx was one of their best cars ever. i just loved their unique styling that meant when you owned one it showed you had taste and individuality, they also solved problems like suspension in ways no one else could have imagined i take my hat off to anyone driving a citroen (of course not a saxo or xantia, or 1990s peugeot clone rubbish) because they clearly have taste and they are awarded with some of the most fanstastic interiors the world has seen, and the great smooth magic carpet ride. being citroen 90 is their equivilant of celebrating 100 just to be quirky. the c6 is amazing it really should have had more attention in the video and its by no means an ordinary car underneath
