At least they're not using the N-word like other Corvette tuners. The bhp figure is nothing more than the new benchmark in the SEMA annual boasting competition. Hopefully Hamann will respond with a 900bhp ZR1-based Vette. Wasn't there a 600bhp Honda Jazz last year?

To be honest, I've never fully understood the mentality of aftermarket tuners - not amateur ones anyway. Fair enough, sometimes it can look "ok" but most of the time it looks as if they have put glue all over the car and driven through a scrap yard. People don't think to themselves, "there's a reason why I'm in this shed and not in a Porsche factory"

As someone who lives in the USA, I can tell you that the USA can't build cars for shit. It looks like someone took a blow torch and melted a bunch of plastic bottles together to make the interior of the Corvette and the body pannels don't even fit together on the car when they're brand new. This car looks particularly stupid because the back end seems to have fallen off somewhere! Looks like a wege of blue cheese.

I think that's part of the appeal of American supercars though, to be fair. It's just about brute force and violence. There's no subtlety or tact, it's just a giant chunk of metal shoved into another bit of metal with a few wheels attached (maybe even four). Dip the clutch and boom, you get the sound Jimi Hendrix heard in his head in your cockpit. Press the accelerator with force and boom, you end up just as dead as our dear ol' Jimi. Sometimes people just find serenity in the middle of a tornado.

sweet, SEMA is great. sure it can be filled with cars that have expensive body kits, a flashy paint job and more interior lights then the star ship enterpirse... but it's also a place where aftermarket tuners can show off their latest race cars and parts, it's a place you can find some radical things.. like a scion tC that'll do 10s on the 1/4 mile, or the Honda element that can drift!

invisiblepidgeon, i to live in the usa and find that an unfair statement, although ford and chrysler admittedly suck, GM is very good. true enough they dont use "soft to the touch" materials like the german cars but the german equivilants cost about twice as much, look at how affordable the G8 GXP, CTS-V, and ZR1 are compared to their foreign competition. All you would have to do to make a ZR1 produce more than 1000 HP is give it Arao engineering 4 valve heads, much cheaper add on than this...

Carbon fiber wheels? It should be light, but beware the curbs... sounds like a stupid idea to me. I do like the way they cover the rear lights, but the exhausts just look ridiculous...
