Good news! A German tuner has announced a modification programme for the Dacia Duster.
Yes, James May's favourite humble soft-roader gets lightly spanked with the bejewelled pimp stick. Elia, who we've never heard of before, has introduced two packages for our little Romanian hero.
The first, called the ‘Adventure Kit', adds a whopping bull-bar to the front end and some protective side skirts. The second gets the West Coast Customs treatment, with 16-inch alloys (18-inchers are optional), LED daytime running lights, new side skirts and a chrome exhaust pipe.
Should you require your Duster to actually have more poke than the appliance after which it is named, there is even a tuning kit that recalibrates the ECU in the 1.5-litre diesel and ups power to a faintly giddying 122bhp. However...
Bad news! A German tuner has announced a modification programme for the Dacia Duster.
Surely, the Duster's modest charm lies in its, erm, modesty? The humble motor is a little bit cool because it doesn't try to be anything other than a means of transportation.
Can you really pimp a Duster and get away with it?
Dacia Duster gets pimped
James May’s favourite no-nonsense off-roader gets a sprinkling of bling. And it really is just a sprinkling…

Didn't Robert Johnson do a song about this one? 'I think I'll pimp my Duster'. But yes, you can certainly get away with pimping a Dacia. I think it's the ultimate pimpable car. Expensive sportscars don't need it. If you want to paint, you use an empty canvas, not the Mona Lisa.

I think Dacia in general (Logan, Duster & Sandero) shouldn't be pimped. They are all modest cars with very modest performance, looks and price. They are built for transportation, not looks or power. In my opinion any pimped Dacia should end up in carbage.

@mingachimp: remember those 2CV's and Beetles with big Mercedes grilles & noses in the '70's? Those were great! I want a Duster with snorkel and winch, so I can nickname it the Vacuum Cleaner. The Jimmy Nilfisk, even better.

You would hardly call putting on 16 inch alloys modifying in any great way! Why not pimp a "modest" car, after all young people (we all did it) put loads of money into cars that are worth less than the mods so why not tart up a car that is worth a bit more with some cheap mods.
