You're looking at the new Land Rover Defender 4x4. Maybe...
This extraordinary design proposal is one of the ideas knocking around LRHQ that's filed under ‘Defender successor' and it'll be revealed in full at this year's Frankfurt motor show.
Yep. That's right. Land Rover's building a NEW Defender for 2015, 67 years after the original clattered onto forecourts. And, as you'd expect, LR's design team's being very cautious about tinkering with an outline that could feasibly outlast religion.
Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's Director of Design, says: "Replacing the iconic Defender is one of the biggest challenges in the automotive design world; it is a car that inspires people worldwide. The DC100 isn't a production-ready concept, but the beginning of a four-year journey to design a relevant Defender for the 21st century."
John Edwards, LR's Global Brand Director, Land Rover added:" Loved the world over for its simple, honest and distinctive design, we are determined that the new Defender will be true to its heritage, while meeting the requirements of a changing global market."

They have some BIG shoes to fill trying to replace the Defender. I'll try to have an open mind about it, but it will be hard. Good Luck to LR

it looks like Range Rover and put a 4x4 kit on to a Nissan cube, and it makes the Nissan Cube look okay

I can see why they need to change it but as a wise man once said if it aint broke dont fix it. But in my opinion the defender does not need a upgrade to the design because it just works you dont buy a defender for how it looks you buy a defender because it works off road in every condition known too man why change it.

I think it looks ridiculous, i think they have looked at a nissan cube for the shape and a nissan juke for the lights and thought, let's put them together.
