FXX for the road
Must be frustrating being an ultra-rich Ferrari customer. You buy yourself an Enzo – all offers in the half-million quid region considered, sir – only to find that it’s woefully, disappointingly underpowered. What’s 660bhp in a world where a modest Audi estate puts out 570bhp?
So you buy yourself an FXX – all 860bhp and £1,000,000 of it – to discover that you’re not actually allowed to drive it on the road. Or, indeed, keep it in your own garage. Tough break.
What you need, then, is one of these: the FXX Evolution from German tuning house Edo Competition. Essentially it’s a Enzo tuned up to FXX specification… while remaining road legal.
Which means 840bhp – or the full 860bhp if you remove the mufflers – courtesy of a bored-out version of the Enzo’s V12 engine, which now displaces 6.3 litres instead of the original unit’s puny 6.0 litres.
Coupled with a kerbweight some 100kg down on the standard Enzo, and that’s good for a 0-60mph time around three seconds flat. Expect handling to fall firmly into the ‘brutal’ category, thanks to full race-spec adjustable suspension.
Those new rear winglets might come in handy when you get close to the 242mph top speed, too. Eek.
Edo will convert any existing Enzo to FXX specifications, but they haven’t yet released a price for their generous services.
No matter how outrageous the price tag, think of all the spare cash you’ll have after trading in that no-longer-needed FXX…

It won't be able to get anywhere near the actual fxx's time and I doubt it'll get over a sleeping policeman. Skeptical, me? Yep.

doesnt look too bad, but the fxx still looks better, look-a-like cars aren't as appealling as the real ones.

I usually loathe the mere mention of a "modied supercar", but I must say that this is actually quite good, so long as it's also available in Rosso Corsa with white bits. I'd rather they fitted the projector headlights from the FXX though, as it otherwise looks like, well, a lookalike.

People use these kind of cars on race tracks,the only advantage of the EDO is that you can drive it at any track not just at Ferrari´s place.It certainly wont be as fast as the fxx but i think it´s gonna cost less.But for this amount of money you could buy literally any car that exist so the edo better be one of the best.

have to get an Enzo first. then tuned it into something like these. imagine how much money you need on the process. better off wait for the Enzo's sucessor. good idea though for those who have no patience and for the filthy rich who doesn't have the word 'budget' on their vocabulary.

my problem with it is: it really is a look-alike...why do they sell it as a "fxx for the road"? they should sell it as a tuned up version of the enzo without the fxx-parts you can actually see (spoiler etc.) I love the wheels and the color...

ive seen this car before, about a year before topgear did, it nabbed the cover of DuPont Registry last year, great car though i have to say thats what German engineering is capable of.

I would feel really like such a wally because if i bougth a FXX because you can't6 take it on the road only on the track. So this new car is good idea. I also think that Ferrari should make an an temp to make the fastest car in the world.
