Look at the Ferrari 458 Italia gallery (and, for more stuff like this as soon as we hear about it, follow Top Gear on Twitter).
The Ferrari 458 Italia is out on the road, and it looks great. We've already seen studio shots of the F430 replacement, but this is the first time it has been shown out on the road.
Natural light really picks out all the swoops and angles on it - see that sharp swoop below the doors? Is that actually painted white or
just very shiny carbon fibre?
The front end somehow appears even more aggressive than in the studio shots,
with those steep bonnet lines climbing into the raked-back headlights. Speaking of which, what do you think of the running lights? We know everyone's
at it, but does it suit Ferrari?
Our favourite detail is hidden away on the left-hand side of the steering
wheel. It's a subtle little dial that reads 'Pit Speed'. Is this an adjustable
version of an F1-style pit lane limiter? Maybe it's a detail poor Luca Badoer helped develop...
Just in case you'd forgotten the 458's headline figures, a quick reminder. It's
armed with a 4.5-litre direct injection V8 kicking out 562bhp and propelling the
mid-engined two-seater from 0-62mph in 'less than 3.4 seconds' before topping
out at a heady 202mph.
Just imagine how it'll sound! Actually, don't imagine - just watch this video:

[That's no whiteness in the sill, it's just caught the sunlight.] It looks very 21st Century, both inside and out. It's definitely a Ferrari though. As for DRL, if it means they can give it those headlights I'm all for them.

Did Ferrari suddenly cash in all of their mojo to produce this? I think one of the designers must have sketched the prototype on the Devil's own notepad in his own blood. Astonishing. Jamie_P: In the same way that Murcielago SV is styled on the Focus ST because they're both orange?

It still looks weird from the front. Kinda like an alien... Not a pretty looking one of that... And I still don't like the single round brake lights, the radiator grill and the triple exhaust in the back.
