Hear the 458 Italia
You’ve seen the pictures of the new Ferrari 458. You’ve pored over the specs. You’ve tried to figure out how the hell it’s even possible to get 127bhp per litre from a naturally aspirated engine.
Now all that’s left to do is hear it out on the road. Take it away, 458:
Gets the hairs on the back of neck standing to attention, doesn’t it?
We love the way that V8 note gets ever more metallic and hard-edged as it barrels towards the 9,000rpm redline. And those upshifts through the double-clutch gearbox sound mighty smooth and quick, don’t they?
So you’ve seen it, read about it and now heard it. All that’s left to do now is, er, start saving…

That´s not what a Ferrari should look like. Replace all the prancing horse batches with, let´s say, the 'H' of Hyundai and you would say 'yes, this is nice try of an asian car company to copy the european super cars' and then forget it in a minute. But as Clarkson would say: 'uuhhhmm, look at it! It´s a Ferrraaarrriii. it has all these stickers on it. and all these knobs, to make it go faster, and the sound of that V8, uhhhmmm'. Well ... the sound is pretty awesome, thou. The point is, it´s not italian enough. there´s no passion, no drama, matter of fact it´s not .. epic

Looks like a video game interpretation of a Ferrari (like on Burnout or something). That sound reminds me of the F355 somehow. But the first sound snippet sounded more like an Exige...

the 3 tailpipes are a hark back to f40...and i think it sounds too subdued really, a side effect of the direct-injection or a sh*tty computer?! who can tell at this stage :)

getting prettier again, but its still too fussy to be a classic like the 355, or even the 360. they spoiled the look when they based everything on the ugly enzo, with its stupid little lights all round. the front looks better because of the slashes, but the back is ugly.

erm..... just a small point, 127bhp from a litre impressive?? V poor, my 9 year old Kawasaki ZX6R got 183 per litre when new...

This is a s**t engine noise. I know because it sounds like my RX-7. And that has a 1.3L 13-B rotary engine with twin sports exhaust, not one of the best V8 engines ever made. Unless my RX-7 happens to sound awesome. If not slightly chavvy on a car that's, well, an old Mazda. :P

This car has a real good sound. I m wainting for the Frankfurt motor show to see the Itália. The images and sound in the movie are on the official site of Ferrari. The movie it´s just what are in the site. The guy who made the movie it´s rubbish. "Fisrt Comment"
