Ferrari 599 HGTE handling pack

If you've got a Ferrari 599 knocking about in your garage, now's the time to dust it off and wing it to a dealership.

When you get there, ask them to bolt on an HGTE handling pack, which is now available as a retro-fit option.

The pack lowers the car by 10mm, stiffens the spring rates and anti-roll bars, gets you racier rims and tyres (for eight per cent more grip!) and, of course, recalibrates your magnetorheologically controlled dampers. Hmm. We've no idea what that means, but we're told it makes your car nicer to drive around corners.

If your 599 was made from 2008 onwards, you can get a power increase too, which quickens the already lightning-fast gearchanges to just 85 milliseconds. There's also a ruder exhaust on offer, which owners of older cars can choose.

The pack also tarts up the exterior, with a new grille and matt-finish prancing horse badges.

And the price for all this? £17,213 if your 599 was built before 2008; £19,703 if it was made after then.

Or you could save the cash and buy yourself a nearly new Golf GTi instead. It'd look good next to the 599 on the drive...
