Another week, another ‘record' Nurburgring lap time...except this one's different. Cos' it's a Ferrari.
The track-honed pumped up Ferrari 599XX - the inspiration for the GTO - has been thrashed around the legendary ‘Ring in a time of just 6m 58.16s, which Fezza reckons is a ‘record' for a production-derived sports car.
Bit tenuous, but epic nevertheless. However, Ferrari has also done something Very Good Indeed by filming the lap via an onboard camera.
This is stuff that makes ears worth having. Turn it up and experience a 6-litre V12 being abused.

Hmph, it's not road legal, so I suggest it goes up against race cars, not road cars.

It deserves the road car tag more than the Radicals, anyways...

all 599XX are kept by Ferrari & they are leased to Ferrari's best customers for authorised track days. This should be classed as a prototype & judged against other specials & not "taxed, MOT'd & insured" road legal cars. Still 6.58mins of pure driving class. How do you get a day job like that?
