Insider Spider
After yesterday's 'Deck Out Your Ferrari California in Horrible Mismatching Colour Combinations' fun, we thought we'd continue the interactive Fezza theme with a look round the cockpit of the new Scuderia Spider.
Click those there blue highlighted words and you'll be miraculously transported to a clever three-dimensional spin-around interactive-thingy that places you right in the drop-top Scud's driver's seat.
Be warned, though – it doesn't quite have the glossy, studio-lit finesse of the Cali-configurator. In fact, it's all a bit nuts and bolts – but that's rather in keeping with the stripped-out, exposed feel of the Scud. And we like it.
Features worth noting are that five-way manettino switch on the carbon fibre steering wheel – which includes the 'everything off' setting (or 'The Stig' as we prefer to call it) – the 10,000rpm rev gauge, a speedo disappearing way off into the 300kph territory… oh, and all that lovely air above your virtual head.
We still can't work out whether the fundamental concept of a drop-top lightweight is utterly pointless or very cool. Jump into the cockpit and decide for yourself…
